Like some other teams, the Pittsburgh Panthers (most of the time just referred to as Pitt) football program began in 1890. Since those early days, they have had a total of 9 claimed national championships. That said, it has been more than 40 years since their last one so they are due for another soon. If you are like many fans, you may have noticed that your cable or satellite service costs keep going up. If you have debated getting rid of your service, we have some options for you.
No Pitt fan wants to miss out on the season. However, rising costs may cause fans to struggle. You shouldn’t have to sacrifice football just to save money. That is why we wanted to mention the stand alone streaming options. By using one of these services, you can still watch pay TV channels like usual. But, you don’t have to have to the cost or commitment of traditional methods. Let’s take a quick look at some good options to watch the Pitt season. If you will be traveling internationally during the games, using a VPN and connecting to a server in the US would be a good idea.
Use Sling TV to watch Pittsburgh Football
Sling TV a very well known streaming option in the community. If you have watched TV at all recently, there is a good chance you have seen one of their ads. What the service does is give you some great pay TV channels but without the normal cost. Also, you don’t have any contracts to sign up for so you can drop the service at any time. Since you can’t find information on the channels for all of the Pitt games, knowing if this service will show you everything is not possible. However, we can tell you that many of the games will be on ABC and ESPN. You will at least need the Sling Orange package and the Broadcast Extra add-on if you want access to both. To see if this service offers you the access you need, be sure to try Sling TV free for 7 days for testing purposes.
Using PlayStation Vue to stream Panthers Football
Another good but lesser known option is the PlayStation Vue streaming service (often called PS Vue). As you might guess, it has the power of Sony behind it (that can be a good or bad thing depending on your perspective). It offers the user more than 45 channels as part of their basic package. Just like Sling, there are no contracts needed for this service either. Channels available include CBS, ESPN2, ESPN, and many others. You may not be able to see the ABC games since this service only offers ABC on demand. To give the PS Vue service a fair shake, they are offering a 5-day free trial to see what it is all about.
PS Vue compatibility is available on PS3, PS4, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Apple TV, Chromecast, iOS, Android, and others. If not everyone in your household wants to watch football, you can stream up to 5 simultaneous connections.
For anyone that has not seen the Pittsburgh football schedule or needs to see it again, we have it below for you.
